Coach Charlie Hall to Leave Ashland High for SOU!
As many have suspected and feared for the past few weeks, today, AHS Head Football Coach Charlie Hall accepted the position as Head Coach at Southern Oregon University. Coach Hall came to AHS in 2005 and immediately began the process of rebuilding a traditional Ashland Football program which had fallen on hard times. His impact was almost immediately felt as in only his second season, the Grizz went 10-0 in regular season and advanced to quarter finals in state playoffs. In his 12 seasons at AHS, Hall has led Ashland to a 94-44 overall record, including four conference titles, appearing in the state quarterfinals six times, the state semifinals twice and the championship game in 2015. He was also recognized as all League Coach twice. The Grizz have advanced to state playoffs every year since 2009! With the exception of the 2014 season, each year the Grizzlies were knocked out of the state playoffs by the team that eventually won the state championship (W. Albany, Sherwood, Summit, Lebanon) .
Coach Hall, it has been a great and wonderful pleasure to have you coach our boys for the past 12 seasons. Your discipline and determination have instilled character in these young men which will impact them for a lifetime. We will all miss you, but wish you he best of luck. Go Raiders!
