Weinberg and Atteberry Selected to Les Schwab Bowl Game
For the fourth year in a row, Ashland High School will be represented at the Les Schwab Bowl. Nicky Weinberg and Tucker Atteberry will play their final high school football game while representing the South Squad at the June 24th All Star game held at Hillsboro Stadium.
Coach Charlie Hall will also be an assistant on the South Squad. Lebanon Head Coach Ty Tomlin will lead the team against the North squad. Lebanon High School, the 2016 5A state champs, defeated the Grizzlies in last year's quarterfinals. Weinberg and Atteberry will spend a week practicing and preparing with all participants on the campus of Pacific University in Forrest Grove. Players will also participate in weekly events at local establishments and spend a few hours doing community service at Portland Hospitals.
Weinberg will be playing WR and Atteberry will play DB. South QB's include Summit's John Bledsoe and Lebanon's Ty Hargis. Local players from Crater, North Medford, Eagle Point and Grants Pass will join the Griz duo on the South team.
Weinberg and Atteberry are currently both undecided about where they will play football next year.
